PEELS
2022 - PRESENT

dried banana peels, cotton thread

DUNES (2022)

inkjet prints installed in sand from the beach of Fort Tilden - an abandoned former military fort that was in use during WWII.

In collaboration with Tif Ng

I wonder about the things that we remember.
The things that we choose to remember.
The memory, the melody.

How those are the things that are stitched into our legacy.

Not the legacy that is told by those who are seen or have been seen. But the legacy of stories within each of us, passed, shared, with shifting light.

stories told to me, at me, on the surface of, and beneath the peel.

A living liquid light that is spread with each passing breath, step, and wave.

A resilient shield, a skin, the infinite.

A gift, of fragments, arranged, resampled, re-wrapped and held.

I wonder about the things that we remember.
The things that we choose to remember.
The memory, the melody.
